Last Day of Making Our Blogs for School Project. -FAIL :(

Tomorrow is the submission of our project (this blog site) and 1 of the requirements is to have 50 followers, and I fail. I really don't know how I could be able to attain the 50 follower requirements since I'm new to blogging, I think, I didn't make this blog that interesting and fun. Since not all here are like me, a guitar enthusiast. I hope that this is not my last entry on this blog since this project is over.

By the way, I really love the environment here. hehehe but anyways, this could be my last post for now.

Good day to all! :)

My Dream Guitar :)

Ernie Ball Musicman John Petrucci BFR 6
I really love what this guitar sounds. Warm and the sustain is incredible. I'm a big fan of warm sounding guitars and this is the perfect one for me. The EBMM JP BFR 6 is made up of different kinds of woods, the combination of alder body with maple top matching the mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard. that's why it really sounds great. I really love the how it sounds, in clean and in a crunch lead tone. A real DREAM guitar.
Here's how this Ernie Ball Musicman John Petrucci BFR 6 sounds with Mr. John Petrucci himself with Jordan Rudess on Key's.
Enjoy!

What's a better guitar strap?

What is your guitar strap? What are the factors of a strap do you consider? What is the most essential to you? the good looking or the comfortable one?

This questions are very important in choosing a guitar strap. For me, I'd rather choose the comfortable one than a good looking strap. Why? Because the looks won't affect your playing especially in a long playing situation. I always experience shoulder ache and back ache every after playing sessions, and even while playing! Of course, that aches affects my playing and I don't want that. But after I got a "Mono GS1- Betty" strap, the suffering has come to an end.
This strap in my opinion, is the most comfortable strap ever. because of its wide wale design which distributes the weight of heavy instruments. A thin memory-foam core reduces fatigue during long hours of play. A smooth Neoprene underbelly lets the shoulder breathe and slides nicely across your shirt or skin. "Forget about the instrument. Concentrate on the music".

I strongly recommend this strap to all guitarists out there! here's their website.

Boss GT-10 Effects Processor

This is my current "Pedalboard". I'm using a multi-effects setup over the years because of the ease of use and versatility. Before, I was playing for a "show band" with variety of genres and because of tight budget, I ended up in a multi effects setup and I used a Zoom GFX-5 and never got satisfied of my tone. In my opinion, my tone really sucks using that effects. Now, I'm using a Boss GT-10 which is really a monster machine for me because of the features that this monster can do. This machine have a very intelligent "Assign" feature which is its real strength. Where you can assign up to 8 events in just one step! For the tone, of course, it's made by Boss/Roland Corp. which is a top guitar effects innovator since their first production. I love the overdrive/distortion that this machine can scream. And my favorite is the "Tube Screamer". Boss also improved their amp simulator in this effects called "COSM" and it really works very good for me. I usually use the MS Classic 1959 (Marshall). I love high gain distortions especially in solo's . And before I forgot, this machine is like an analog setup where you can arrange the effects chain sequence within the board. The feature of this monster machine is really broad to discuss here. I'll share a tutorial video that i followed when I'm starting programming my tones.

Here's Glenn Delaune's GT-10 tutorial which served as my reference before. I followed this tutorial and browse the manual for the functionality purposes. I also have a "Tian Jay's GT-10 Tutorial DVD" which helps me a lot. He discussed everything with regards to the functionality of each buttons, how to operate all navigation buttons, how to use PROPERLY every effects included in the board and gives out example full example of his patch settings for your reference. Every Boss-GT10 out there MUST TRY that tutorial video!

Overall, this machine is for keep. I'll build my analog setup soon, but I still keep this machine as long as I play. Try one now and enjoy! Cheers!

Reviews on my Ibanez RG

Here's my Ibanez RGT6ex IPT (Iron Pewter) full specification:

  • neck type- 5pc Wizard II Maple/Walnut neck-thru
  • body- Mahogany wing body
  • fret- Jumbo frets
  • bridge- Edge III tremolo system
  • neck pups- EMG® 85 (H) neck pu
  • bridge pups- EMG® 81 (H) bridge pu
  • hardware color- Black
As you can see, this guitar has a 5pc Wizard II Maple/Walnut neck with flat rosewood fretboard which is really FAST! I love this feature of my guitar because of the smooth and fast feel of the neck which is very comfortable for me. I also love the pick up set (EMG® 81/85) this pick ups are really punchy and brutal in a solid mahogany body. I love it when I'm in high gain crunchy lead tone. I'll be posting some of my tone's sound clip soon. I just need to work on that. :) For me, this guitar is for keep, I wish that this guitar will age with me. Keep on Rockin'!

My Gears!

Boss GT-10 and Ibanez RGT6ex IPT

Now, let me introduce to you my gears that I use in my guitar activities. I'm using an Ibanez RGT6ex with a Boss GT-10 as my pedalboard/effects processor running through a Peavey Classic 50 all tube combo amp as my Power Amp. I use this set up for our Sunday worship for almost 2 months now.. Just got the Boss GT-10 last august to be my main pedalboard. I'll discuss my gears in a separate post later on. Just to give you my insights about these awesome gears.

For the Guitarist out there!

This instructional video of John Petrucci (Dream Theater) called "Rock Discipline". It really works for my growing guitar skills. In my opinion, this video really works for progression of those intermediate players out there. You should try this one if you still have not watched this and if you want to improve your playing.  Happy watching! and good luck to learning. :)

Watch all the series of this video from part 1 upto the final part.

John Petrucci's "Rock Discipline Guitar Lessons"

A Dream Band..... DT

Dream Theater       is well noted for being one of the early progenitors of the progressive metal genre. The original two members, John Petrucci and John Myung have strong influences from bands such as Rush, Yes, Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd, various speed metal bands, and even the hair metal of the day. This synthesis created a unique metal that was not traditional of the day: it had distorted guitars and fast riffing, but the music focused more on technical proficiency and precise execution than on heavy metal riffs. The band's music has focused on three main elements: metal, melody, and progressive roots.

NBA 2k12 is now arrive!
I went last Saturday night in our family friends' house for a birthday celebration and my friend Jonjon, told me and showed me that he already have the NBA 2k12 installedin his laptop, and man! the game is really awesome! they improved many aspects in the game like, the movements. They added a lot of moves, dribble, jump shots and many more! They also improved the My Player mode. It's just like you are really playing in the NBA. But what I really like on the improvements they've made is the interaction between players in the court. The player contact with each other is really amazing! It's like they really touch each other like when they anticipate shots, you can really see the contact if there is foul. Really an amazing live experience when you play.
I have not played it in Xbox 360 yet, but I'm sure its going to be an addiction again if I already have the game CD. hehe
Try it yourself! I'm sure all NBA fans will gonna love it! :)
